2006 South African Sauvignon Blanc,2008 California Pinot

I went to a wine seller that sells you the wine by doing a tasting http://premierwines.org/ . A special friend came with me.They poured several wines i didn’t care for, but they did pour this 2006 Cedarberg South African Sauvignon Blanc, which had an interesting flavor-changing quality. It started off zesty citrusy, almost lemony, but as it opened up the citrus waned and revealed a smoooth finish.I saved the bottle for my friend to come over, and had picked up a 1 Liter Tetrapak of Bandit Pinot Grigio 2008.That Cedarberg was the best bottle i’ve opened so far, and really validates Premier Wines’ marketing concept.I would have never laid out 17 bucks for a bottle of wine that I didn’t KNOW was dynamite, but having tasted it, no problem. And it was even better at home.It did make the 2008 Bandit Pinot Grigio seem inferior by comparison, but after a while we had adjusted (from the letdown from fine wine to pedestrian)and just enjoyed each other’s company and the liter of Pinot. Going to record tomorrow, so hope to upload new music soon.
